IN  THE  BEGINNING

                                    My Grandparents

                                  George and Ida Helle

Granddad was born on a farm in Illinois, as a young man he found he had a talent for playing the fiddle. While he could not read music, his talent was a main source of income earned at barn dances.

As a young boy his Dad got involved with a sawmill, one day when the sawyer failed to show up,George tried his hand at sawing.

To this day it is truthfully said . If you listen, you can hear the whine of a chain saw and know those Helle Boys have not found their way out the woods yet. note# 2006 at the age of 71 I bought my 1st portable sawmill

Grandmother was a very special lady. THIRTEEN children, when she left this world she had FORTY-SIX grandchildren and NINTY-FOUR great-grandchildren !

As my cousin Margail said" she had a way of making each grandchild feel like they were "the special one".
